Interior design tips - Painting with Textures

As most of you probably know, painting is one of the quickest ways to spruce up a room, just like fitted wardrobes. It can add an entire new dimension to your interior, making it feel new, exciting, and different. But, often, painting can be maddening and difficult, especially if you are really excited about it, only to find that it is more difficult than you thought. Painting is not hard… there are just  a few things to remember. One of these is texture. The other is storage. Make sure to put your unwanted stuff away so that you have more space to work on.

Texture is generally necessary to remember for several reasons. First off, you will need to remember texture because, if you do not, your wall will look funny. Why? Well, it is just simple cosmetics. If you paint half of a wall with a brush, and the other half with a roller, you are going to get textures that are very different. If you are planning to paint, you should definitely use a roller. But, you might be using brushes to cut in on the edges and in the corners, so how do you hide the brush strokes?

First, you can go over the brush stokes with the roller, getting as close to the wall as you can. This might leave an inch or less of brush stroke visible, but this is much better than four inches. Second, you should apply two coats of paint to the corners with your brush before you overlap with a roller. Why? Because two, or even  three coats, is going to cover better and look better than one, any day. Cutting in is tedious and time -consuming, but do not let this fact discourage you from doing it right! You need more than one coat, or your textures will not blend as well, resulting in a wall that looks good, except for the sides.
